Overview of Sub-Department

The Veterinary sub-department is involved with the health-care of the pets of crewmembers aboard the USS Galaxy.

There is no animal or creature in the Alpha, Beta, Gamma or Delta Quadrants that isn't welcome with the vets, although some of them may have to stay in the Cargo bays or behind forcefields ;-)

Depending on the animal, they may be transferred to Main Sickbay via turbolifts & corridors & transporters, or the vets will make house-calls to quarters as needed.

Sometimes, the Veterinary sub-department 'borrows' the Paediatrics Ward when patients are nervous or need a calming influence.

Staff

The current vet aboard the ship is Lt Jg Petri, a Phylosian female.  The EMH programs can assist as veterinarians, but only if necessary. Chief Warrant Officer Sudrok also is the veterinarian nurse.
